Takatof School-Based Service Project for School Volunteering (
2nd Round 2009-2010 )
Takatof School-based Service Project was launched in September 2008 under the Patronage
of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs HH Sheikh Mansour
Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The project is one of the major initiatives of Takatof Social Volunteering Programme.
It aims to encourage both teachers and students to incorporate the concept of volunteering into school education, thus opening new horizons of learning for students and to
render educational outputs compatible with local community service.
In its first round for the school year 2008-2009, the project offered 22 grants
to support a variety of volunteer service projects at secondary schools across the
UAE.
For the 2009-2010 school year, the project has been expanded to cover elementary,
preparatory and secondary schools in all the emirates.
The grants will be as follows:
- 10 grants, each up to 4000 dirham, for selected elementary schools
- 10 grants, each
up to 7000 dirham, for selected preparatory schools
- 30 grants, each up to 10000
dirham, for selected secondary schools
